My Purpose
By Anika E. Sandy-Hanson In my mind I wish I'd see God's final plan laid out for me. Should I take spanish, history, or tech, French, english, shop or home ec? I don't know which way to go and all I hear is it shouldn't be so. People say, Jesus knew his call from day one And Samuel knew the course he would run. Mary got her call when she was a teen I still wonder, living for God what does it mean? I've read somewhere that the bible says The father will guide us in all of our ways, If we simply put our lives in his hands And follow just what Jesus commands. I wish I could hear him like Moses could Or knew like Esther it was all for good. Instead I can't tell which choice is for me I end up confused, but know that should not be. If I pray and try to do my best Then God will take care of all the rest. My purpose in life is not to be a teacher or even a parent It's to live life for Jesus and make it apparent, That sports, classes, part time work, And success in other areas are just a perk. I can't tell what will happen from day to day And may not forsee what will come my way, But if I obey my father's bible guide I'll see the rules by which to abide. It's easier to put my life in his hands And daily follow what Jesus commands. | |
