I love the autumn season for several reasons. The days are shorter, the trees will begin to turn brilliant colors of orange, red and yellow and the hottest days of summer are a thing of the past. More importantly it is a time when the High Holy Days are once again upon us. The mere words “Holy Days” conjure up many emotions and memories.

Throughout the pages of this magazine our writers have beautifully described the importance of each of the Fall Holy Days and how they outline God’s plan of salvation not only for the individual but for the world as well. It is a time of spiritual renewal.
The Feast of Tabernacles in particular is a vacation away from the routine and ordinary concerns of day-to-day living. It is a time that stresses the importance of obedience to God and service, duty and responsibility to the brethren and our neighbor. In Matthew 22:37-38 Jesus underscored the first and second most important commandments of all. A heartfelt relationship with God is what our Creator desires. We do this by loving Him and our neighbor. The Feast is not a ritualistic act of attending church each day to sing songs and hear a sermon. We should be attending the Feast because we fear the Lord and love Him with all our heart, mind and soul. Each and every day of the Feast is an opportunity to learn more about God’s truth and develop a closer relationship with Him. My prayer this Holy Day season is that no matter where you attend God’s Holy Days, your understanding will grow even greater as you immerse yourselves in the teachings, activities and fellowship. Keep the Feast and Rejoice God bless you,
