God’s Love In You
By Margie Marang

God is known for many things, but the most important is, “God is Love.”  God has an outgoing concern for everyone.  “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). God has an outward love for the people of the whole world. That’s the kind of love we should have; an out going love for others.

“Then the Lord came down in the cloud and stood there with Moses and proclaimed His name, the Lord.  And He passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, ‘The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness,’” (Exodus 34:5-6). Now that’s what we should have, Love and Compassion for others and slow to anger.

“If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing, If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.   It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres’’ (1 Corinthians 13: 2-7).

This is good advice for all of us.  If you want to find out more, finish reading the Love Chapter in the Bible which is 1 Corinthians 13. In this life anything we say or do, if it’s not done out of love it gains us nothing with God.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.  Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.  Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other” (Galatians 5: 22-26). This tells you that God is Love, and through the Power of His Holy Spirit He is watching over you.  He wants to see His love and compassion reflected from you.  If you have Godly love in you, you will have all the Fruit of the Spirit in you.

“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.  This is how God showed his love among us:  He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.  This is love; not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.  No one has ever seen God; but if we love each other, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us. We know that we live in Him and He is in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.  And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his son to be the Savior of the world.  If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God.  And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.” 1 John 4:8-16 So remember if you do not love, then you don’t know God, for God is love.   If God loves us we ought to love one another.

“But if anyone obeys His word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in Him.   Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did” (1 John 2:5-6).  God abides in us. His love has been perfected in us. He loved us and sent His son to be the propitiation for our sins.  If we love one another, God abides in us. i
