How I Study the Bible
By Margie Marang

It’s easy! I need to study my Bible everyday. If I don’t, I feel like something is missing.  I feel void of something all day long.

I have a routine I go by every day. I get up at five a.m. and put in an hour of study. I get the HOME BIBLE STUDY COURSE, and go by that. I feel like I should set aside another hour sometime later in the day for more study. My day seems to go right after my hour of study.  Before I start my study I have my prayer.

This isn’t the only time I pray. I can talk to God anytime.  I pray before my study for guidance, understanding and for a better memory.  God always answers my prayers—either my way or His way.  They are always answered.  Then I start my study.  I have my home study course and my Bible at hand. I look up every scripture and write it down. This is as good way to memorize the scriptures.

The next morning before I continue where I left off I re-read the scriptures and start from there.  I found out an hour isn’t long enough.  There is not enough hours in the day to get a lot done, but I treasure my hour alone with God.  “And they troubled the crowd and the rulers of the city when they heard these things.  So when they had taken security from Jason and the rest, they let them go. Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Siles away by night to Berea.  When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more fair-minded then those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.  Therefore many of them believed, also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men” (Acts 17: 8-12).

When we hear anyone preaching we should check it out for ourselves.  Make sure his sermon agrees with the Bible. This is one good way to study your Bible. i
