Meditation is often confused with prayer, but although similar, there are differences between the two. I would say the major difference between praying and meditating is, in prayer you are actually talking to God, while in meditation you are just thinking about things.
Recorded in the Scriptures are some fifty lengthy prayers in prose sections and several hundred shorter prayers or references to praying. Those who wrote the Scriptures seem far more interested in showing people at prayer than in telling about prayer.
The stewardship of the time each of us has been given by God is something of great importance and should not be ignored. This is not just the time in each day, but the years God has allotted each of us.
You may be asking yourself and wondering, “Ok then, when and what should I fast for?  And how often should I fast?”  Well, lucky for us, the Bible gives us those answers by providing many examples and revealing a number of accounts of fasting for us.
For believers who observe God’s Holy Days, fasting is often viewed as something to suffer through on the Day of Atonement. Yet, denying ourselves food and/or beverage can have benefits.
