SPECIAL CHALLENGE FOR EVERYONE – Our Women’s Study Group has decided to challenge ourselves to read through the Bible in one year. Please join us if you would like to. We will start September 1st and the week’s schedule will be given here the Sabbath prior. The plan is to finish on August 31, 2011. The schedule is also in the CGI booklet titled “How to Study the Bible.” You are welcome to get your own copy at any time. We encourage everyone to be a part of reading through the Bible over the next 12 months! If you have any questions, please see Nancy White.

 

Lesson in Lying

 

A minister told his congregation, “Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17.”

The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17. Every hand went up. The minister smiled and said, “Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying.”
